FC BARCELONA WALLOPS MALAGA 3-1

Newly crowned champions of the 2010/2011 Spanish La Liga Season, FC Bercelona wrapped up their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Malaga at the Estadio La Rosaleda Stadium.
Malaga shot into the lead as striker Sebastian Fernandez scored in the 32nd minute before Bojan Krkic leveled up for FC Bercelona in the 43rd minute via a penalty.
Ibrahim Afellay made it two for the champions with a long range shot in the 75th minute and a header from youth team player, Marc Bartra in the 84th minute completed the rout.
The three times consecutive champions finished the season with 96 points from 38 games, making history as a team that scored in all their away matches in the La Liga.
At the Bernabeu, second-placed Real Madrid defeated Nigerian striker, Kalu Uche’s team Almeria with an 8-1 drubbing.
Portuguese striker, Cristiano Ronaldo set a new La Liga record in the match scoring 40 goals in a season. He scored two goals in the match while Karim Benzema also got a brace and Togolese forward Emmanuel Adebayor clutched a hat-trick to complete his loan spell from Manchester City to Real Madrid and Joselu reduced the tally by scoring a goal for Almeria.
In the other matches, Osasuna defeated Villarrreal by a lone goal, Real Sociedad and Gatafe played one all while Espanyol lost at home to Sevilla by two goals to three.
Ike Uche’s club, Read Zaragoza escaped relegation after defeating Levante 2-1, just as Athletic Madrid spanked Mallorca 4-3. Racing Santander lost 1-2 to Athletic Bilbao while Hercules played goaless with Sporting Wjon.
FC Bercelona, Real Madrid, Valencia and Villarreal will represent the Spain in the 2011/2012 UEFA Champions League while Athletic Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla and Espanyol qualified for European League next season. Deportivo La Coruna, Hercules and Almeria were relegated to second division.
However, FC Bercelona still has a mountain to climb on May 28 when it takes on Manchester United in the final of the 2010/2011 UEFA Champions League at the Wembley Stadium.
