In her welcome address, Best said that it was an avenue to celebrate students who had excelled in academics, adding that it would serve as a motivator to other students to strive for academic excellence.
She therefore reiterated that it would be worthwhile for the department to have the best graduating student in the Faculty of Arts and therefore urged the students to always be diligent in their studies.
