To renew its old tradition of information gathering and dissemination, The University of Jos Department of Theatre and Film Arts, is introducing a new magazine, titled ‘Campus Applause’.
A member of the ad-hoc committee of the magazine, Mr. Festus Idoko, who disclosed this, said that the magazine is to have the motto, ‘Heartbeat of Distinction’.
“This in line with the department’s tradition of sharpening students’ creative writing abilities”, he said.
He stated that the magazine would be open to all students notwithstanding their department or level adding that equal opportunity would be given to students within the campus community who wish to express themselves and contribute their quota to the advancement of the university.
Idoko called on “all students with flair for writing and all who have eyes and ears for newsworthy happenings within the university setting” to be part of the project.
He also stressed that the magazine, a fortnightly, would be made affordable and within the reach of all students.
No specific date has been given but the department has assured that the magazine will be launched before the end of the year.
