The University of Jos Faculty of Social Sciences has received a donation of N 200,000 from one of its alumni, Mr. Henry Onukwuba.
Onukwuba, who was described by the Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Gray Ejikeme as “a high achiever”, said the donation was a way of contributing to the development of his Alma Mater.
In addition, he also instituted an undisclosed prize for the best undergraduate thesis from the Faculty.
Onukwuba described his experience while in the University of Jos as very beneficial to his life. He expressed hope that his gift would assist in improving the Faculty’s ICT gadgets.
Executive Director of the Advancement Office, Prof. Victor Dugga, noted that Onukwuba graduated as the best student from the department of Political Science in 1994.
He urged students to follow his example and apply their education to the contemporary world.
