It was an eye catching moment when the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos Prof. Hayward Mafuyai appeared in lecture halls at the Permanent Site of the institution during a surprise visit to see things for himself.
Mafuyai who went from lecture hall to lecture hall during the early morning visit, interacted with students counseling them to take their studies seriously.
Addressing 400 level students of Mass Communication who were receiving a lecture in room 185, he commended the students for dressing properly and neatly to lectures halls saying it leaves an impression that the student will exhibit good character after leaving the institution.
He said students should make good use of their time as “time waits for no one.”
The vice chancellor stressed the need for hard work noting that the era of reliance on ‘connection’ is gradually fading away adding, “if you see a man diligent in his work, he will stand before kings and not mere men”.
He encouraged the students to always call up their lecturers for lectures and to report lecturers who fail to come for lectures to the appropriate authority.
He reassured the students of his plan to build befitting lecture theatres appropriate for qualitative study within the next two years.
