The spirit of love filled the air as the Executive Committee of the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOMS) of the University of Jos organized the celebration of Valentine Day with the students of the department.
It was a surprise package for most students as the association baked cakes for every level and for the members of staff of the department. The executive led by the President, Mr. Richard Maiwada walked into various lecture halls to present the cakes which were received with joy by the members.
The cakes which were beautifully adorned in blue and white colours were later cut amidst snapshots.
Maiwada and his vice, Miss Gift Nwachukwu told Unijos Echoonline that it was a way of promoting love and togetherness among students of the department.
The gesture was also a delight to lecturers who also participated in this celebration of love by taking photographs with the students and the AMCOMS executive committee including various class representatives.
Students of the department expressed their joy for what they described as a positive change and an initiative that should be sustained. Although classes continued immediately after the symbolic cutting of the cakes, many of the students said it was a valentine they would forever cherish.
