The Head of Department, Mass Communication Dr. Christy Best has expressed gratitude to the lecturers and staff of the department for their untiring efforts at imparting knowledge to the students of the department.

Dr. Best made this statement on Tuesday in her office while receiving Esther Onyiyechi Mark, an immediate past student of the department, who recently won the award for Entertainment Reporter of the year with The Nation newspaper.
According to the Head of Department, the feat achieved by Miss Esther is an encouragement to the staff of the department who made her (Esther) an outstanding entertainment reporter and to the students who are now inspired to believe success is achievable at any level.
The head also indicated that several of the department’s products have done the university proud by winning both national and international awards adding that she was delighted when Esther came back to present herself to the department.
Mr Godfrey Danaan, a lecturer with the department, while introducing the student to the HOD described her as dedicated and hardworking throughout her stay as a student of the department.
Earlier on, Esther Onyiyechi Mark, recipient of the award explained that she started writing for The Nation’s Campus Life segment in July last year and decided to put in some of her articles for this year’s award. “I was lucky to be one of seven winners drawn from different universities” she added.
