The Directorate, Physical facility of the University of Jos has restored the faulty electronic boreholes of the village hostel of the institution thereby putting an end to the perennial water shortage experienced by students.
The borehole which was said to have been faulty since the commencement of this semester, has forced students to queue on the manual borehole for water – a situation that has amounted to the inability of the students to meet up with their early morning lectures.
Speaking with unijosechoonline, Acting Village Hostel Governor Joseph Nansat who is also a 400l student of Psychology expressed delight over the repair, saying “It will go a long way in relieving students the burden of queue for hours for just a pan of water”.
Benyash Jankat, a 400l Law student also expressed satisfaction with the repairs indicating that Village Hostel is now reformed compared to what obtains in the past in terms of water supply. She also appealed to the administration to do more on infrastructural development of the hostel as the reservoir cannot store water without power supply.
