FIDELITY BANK OPENS BRANCH IN UNIJOS

Amidst the clarion call by the University of Jos to captains of industry to invest in the school, Fidelity Bank has in a way given an answer.

The answer came with the recent commissioning of a branch of the bank in the university by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Hayward Mafuyai.

Welcoming guests on the occasion, Zonal Manager of the bank, Alhaji Idris Yakubu gave an assurance that the branch will offer full service in the university with three operational ATMs and internet banking platform.

He said the mission of the Unijos branch is to render all kinds of services a typical bank and branch offers such as lending credits of any kind to the University community.

He promised to partner with Unijos to provide an online fees payment platform to enable students pay their fees from anywhere in the world.

He added: “As an avenue to impact value in the life of students, the bank has introduced a special account for students known as Fidelity Flex account where students can open and run a full bank account with just their school identity card”.

He described the bank as moderately capable and most socially responsible corporate body saying, “customers have no cause to fear as our slogan, “we keep our word”, reflects in our activities”.

The vice-chancellor described the opening of the branch as a welcome response to the clarion call by the school and will act as a catalyst for rapid socio-economic development of the institution.

He promised the branch a conducive business environment and urged staff and students to take advantage of the opportunities the new branch would offer.

In a remark, a renown banker, Da Bulus Dareng asked the bank to “wear the jacket of diplomacy and efficiency in rendering services.

Similarly, the Plateau state Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Davou Mang praised Fidelity Bank for remaining a partner in progress, recalling that the bank gave the state government the loan facility for the establishment of agricultural centres which are contributing to the economic development of the state.
