Members of the University of Jos Command of Man O’ War Club have commenced a 10-day training at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre Shere Hills, Jos.
The course is aimed at boosting the physical and mental strength of the members and to instill leadership abilities to become better students, citizens of the university community, Plateau state and Nigeria at large. The training is sponsored by the University of Jos.
In his welcome address at the commencement of the training, the Co-ordinator of the centre, Dr. Waheed Adedeji said urged participants to make the best of the experience to make them better citizens.
“I am pleased to have this training with the Unijos Man O’ War as the training is what we have been waiting for over three years”, he said.
He said the centre expects a high sense of decorum from them noting that the training is in line with the motto of the Unijos which is discipline and character.
The co-ordinator agave a brief history of the centre which he said has training centres in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
He listed the categories of courses available at the centre to include Adventure, which is for children, Intermediary for tertiary institutions, Senior for military and para-military and Executive for members of the political class.
