The University of Jos has commenced its post-Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (POST-UTME) screening for the admission of candidates into the 2013/2014 academic session.
The week-long exercise holding at the Multipurpose Auditorium, Bauchi Road Campus of the institution started with candidates who applied for courses in the Faculties of Medical, Pharmaceutical Natural and Environmental Sciences, among others.
One of the candidates who applied for medicine, Praise Chinyere told Echo Online that the screening was nice and very fast. She said they were given 30 general questions on science which they were to answer in 25 minutes.
The Acting Director, ICT Directorate of the university, Mr. John Alhassan said the screening was going smoothly as they have learnt from past experiences and tightened up every loose end with regard to technical hitches and network failure.
He said the on-going ASUU strike did not affect the screening as the support staff are fully equipped for the exercise adding that about 10,000 candidates are expected to write the test.
The test ends on Saturday, July 20 while the results of the post-UTME screening will be available on the University of Jos website: www.unijos.edu.ng as from Wednesday July 24.
