Mrs. Lengmang further said that eligible candidates would be posted to different states of the federation with few exceptions. “Married women would be redeployed to where their husbands reside. Candidates with disability, those with medical cases such as mental disorder, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis and other chronic disorders would be posted to where their families are for proper attention except such candidates still feel that they can serve outside where their families are”.
She said. in line with the requirements for the NYSC programme, corps members are to report at their respective NYSC camps on or two days before the stipulated date with their call up letters, eight passport photographs, school identification cards, and statement of result from the school.
She pointed out that, “all corps members who lost their call up letters are to submit an application with an affidavit to the institution early for the next batch. Also, a candidate who misses service in the past for any reason but happens to be a given call up letter should note that such reasons cannot be entertained; he/she must return such call up letter to the institution until the issues are clarified”.
The assistant director warned that corps members should adhere to camp rules adding, “members are not to come to the orientation camp with automobiles as spaces wouldn’t be available”.
She charged the prospective corps members to use the programme as an instrument to develop the community in which they would be serving so as to reflect its motto, “Service and Humanity”.
