UNIJOS to host WARIMA annual conference

The University of Jos will host the 7th West African Research and Innovation Management Association (WARIMA) annual conference and workshop from the March 2 to 7, 2014.

In a statement made available to Unijos Echo Online and signed by the Deputy Registrar (Information and Publications), Mr. Steve Otowo the conference which was earlier postponed due to the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), will hold at the Hill Station Hotel, Jos.

With the theme “Networking: A key to Advancing Research Management and Innovation in West Africa” the conference, according to the statement, is targeted at all who are involved in research and innovation management in various institutions, as well as those interested in undertaking cutting edge research.

It described WARIMA as the professional body for research management in the West Africa sub-region which promotes best practices, increases the awareness on research and innovation issues in academic and public institutions.

The body also promotes advancement of science technology and innovation that will facilitate access to, and diffusion of knowledge between the West Africa Sub-region for socio economic development.
