TYODEN CELBRATES 65TH BIRTHDAY WITH UNIJOS – PLEDGES GOVT. SUPPORT

In the spirit of the 40th anniversary celebrations, the Deputy Governor of Plateau State and immediate Past Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Sonni Tyoden, yesterday, marked his 65th birthday at the Multipurpose Auditorium.

The celebration had lots of dignitaries in attendance including former Vice Chancellors of the university, former Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo who was also the Founders’ Day guest lecturer, and others.

Professor Tyoden expressed his profound gratitude to the school management for putting in much effort to recognise his birthday stating that this was the first time he has celebrated his birthday with such a huge crowd.

He thanked dignitaries present at the event, stating that the Plateau state government is out to take necessary policy decisions in order to put Unijos in its proper place in the comity of great citadels of learning in the world.

Goodwill messages and felicitations were delivered as well, wishing him long life and fruitful years in the service of the state and humanity at large.

The Deputy Governor of Plateau State was a student of the university, he was later appointed as Graduate Assistant before rising through the rank to Professor and consequently Vice Chancellor in 2006.
