NAPSS Unijos Elects New Officers

The University of Jos Chapter of the National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS) has elected new officers to run its affairs with Mr. Emmanuel Longpon emerging as President.

The election which took place at different polling units in the various faculties of the university witnessed a large turnout and saw 23 contestants vying for various positions.

The Electoral Committee was headed by a 500 level student of the Building Department, Mr. Obadiah Damwaghal who told Unijos Echo Online that everything was done to ensure a credible process.

He said the committee stood by its guidelines for the election despite the failure of some members to come with their their original indigene forms, school fees receipt and school identity card as earlier instructed.

Those elected alongside Longpon include Jennifer Beyitmwa as Vice President, Zumji Genesis, Secretary General; Orshak Yilkes, Financial secretary and Panshak Joseph as Director of Socials.

A voter who spoke to Unijos Echo Online said he was impressed by the turnout of students and the transparency of the exercise.
