A team of senior staff in the Department of Mass Communication recently visited the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.S. Maimako congratulating him on his recent appointment as the 9th Vice-Chancellor of the Institution.
Leading the team on a brief visit shortly before his official assumption as VC in his previous office as Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, the Head of Department, Dr. Sarah Lwahas indicated that ‘his appointment is a combination of merit and divine providence’.
She prayed that God will help him ‘in holding the office to move the University to greater heights’.
Prof. Sebastian Maimako, who welcomed the team warmly, indicated that he is aware of the giant strides of the Department on campus adding that he is sure the Department will do more given the right environment and equipment.
He also pledged his support to the Department in any area his administration is capable of assisting.
Other senior staff of the Department present during the visit was Prof. Augustine Enahoro, Assoc. Prof. Victor Ayedun-Aluma, Assoc. Prof. John Galadima and Mr. Dantala Garba.
