The three storey library building which is the largest structure in the University of Jos, is in flames.

Echo Online gathered that the fire incident started at about 7:25pm yesterday on the first floor of the building which hosts the school library, Sociology, Political Sciences, Psychology, Economics and Accounting departments, all of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

It was also learnt that the flame increased, extending from offices to the library complex due to limited water supply as students volunteered to help quench the fire by using fire extinguishers and buckets of water drawn from the hostels and nearby sources.
