The Advancement Office of the University of Jos is set to attract more goodwill to the institution.  This was made known by the Executive Director, Mr. Yakubu Gomos in an interview with UniJos Echo correspondents.

The Advancement Office of the University of Jos is set to attract more goodwill to the institution.  This was made known by the Executive Director, Mr. Yakubu Gomos in an interview with UniJos Echo correspondents.

He stated that as the image builder of the institution, his office is working hard for the advancement of the Institution by better branding to attract more friends rather than foes for the University, both nationally and internationally.

In his words, he further explained that his office creates a good platform for raising revenue for the University, especially during this period that the funds being received by the University from the Federal Government are dwindling. He stressed that by making more friends, the University will attract goodwill, which will serve as a good source of revenue as individuals with positive relationships with the University will gladly assist the institution in any way they can.

He said that his office will be working with relevant unions and associations within the university, such as the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Non-academic Staff Union of Universities, the National Association of Technologists ,the and the Students’ Union Government  among others,  so as to create an enabling environment  for effective  communication  and ensure proper welfare of both staff and students of the University.

Gomos stated that the University of Jos under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Seddi Sebastian Maimako “is putting salient strategies towards development of the University in the areas of research, learning and enhancing community relations and to this end there is the dire need for state holders to rally round the Prof. Maimako led administration financially and otherwise to excel”.

The Executive Director, admonished parents, friends, alumni and various organizations to support the University of Jos in the area of endowments, research, scholarship, hostel accommodation, infrastructural maintenance and sports facilities.

Mr. Gomos, who is also a member of the 13th Governing Council of the University representing the congregation, is inspired by his love for helping people is willing to give his best in working for the advancement of the University is willing to accept supports towards advancing and expanding the capacity of the University of Jos.
