UNIJOS HOLDS 40th INDUCTION AND OATH TAKING CEREMONY FOR PHARMACY GRADUANTS

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Jos had her 40th induction and oath taking ceremony recently at the Multipurpose Auditorium, Bauchi Road Campus.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sebastian Seddi Maimako in his opening remarks, said that among the graduates are many students who performed well academically and he urged them to be good ambassadors, maintain good ethics and continue to partner with the University in other fields of study.

He also congratulated their parents and thanked them for the years of labor, noting that this is one of the most expensive courses in the University and prayed that God would keep them to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The Dean of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Jacob Kolawole, said that the inductees are a special group because ‘life begins at forty’ as he gave glory to God for having brought them thus far and also counseled  them to ‘live as if you’re to die today, learn as if you’re to live tomorrow because learning is a continuous process’.

In addition, a speech was given by the Registrar, Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) Pharm. Nurudeen Elijah Mohammad administered the oath of the profession which was followed by the  presentation of provisional certificates to the inductees after which the newly inducted gave a bow to the school academia, lecturers and parents.

There were two First Class students, Jonathan Ikokwo and Idoko John Orgah and awards were also given to fourteen 4.0 CGPA students and above. The overall best graduating student, Idoko John Orgah gave the valedictory speech.
