A 300 level Computer Science student of the University of Jos was confirmed dead following a reprisal attack on Igbos residing in Jos, Plateau  State by some yet to be identified suspectedHausa-Fulani youth.

The body of the victim identified as Binkur has been taken to Plateau State Specialist Hospital by the security operatives, and has this morning been identified by his father who has been searching for him since yesterday.

The attack according to an eye witness, Abdulsamar Abukakar, originated from Katako Market in Jos North Local Government, and later escalated to other parts of Jos City centre leading to the lost of lives and destruction of properties according to security reports.

Mantim who hails from Langtang North LGA and is a resident of Fillin Sukwua was said to be on his way back from his place of Industrial Training before meeting his untimely  death.

UNIJOSE ECHO gathered that other students of the University identified as Nankpak Cirfat the Public Relations  Officer of the Student Union Government of the University and a 300 level student of the Department of Mass Communication, Dabup Emmanuel, a 400 level Law student were also attacked by some angry avengers at Bauchi Road, near the Naraguta Hostel gate on their way back from a youth training program organized by the Nigerian Federation of Evangelical Students (NIFES).

Meanwhile, the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Simon Bako Lalong in a Press Release through the Director of Press, Emmanuel Nanle,  has since Yesterday imposed a dusk to dawn curfew from 6 P.M to 6A.M and promised to bring all those behind such a dastardly  act  to book.

However,  religious organisations like Jama’atu Nasril Islam and the Christian Association of Nigeria and other social and political groups groups condemned the ugly incident, stressing that it is a calculated attempt by some elements aimed at disrupting  the relative peace being enjoyed in the state.
