The kidnappers released them after the ransom was paid.
He expressed his fears stating that the student area in Bauchi Ring Road is no longer safe for students to live in.
In a related development, some unknown persons, suspected to be kidnappers, came out armed to attack the Village Hostel students at about 11:30pm.
Fortunately for the students, some of them were awake and alerted other students who immediately came out in their numbers to defend themselves.
An eye witness said “the security where on ground but where helpless because they had no arms. However fencing the hostel premises is not an enough guarantee that such an attack will stop. The students in village hostel are calling on the attention of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sabastine Maimako to provide the security personnel weapons to enable them repel subsequent attacks on the students knowing fully well that the lives of the students are very important. By so doing, the University of Jos will retain its glory and will be the dream of many students to come and study. This will create and increase the good image and standard of the Institution not only to Nigerian citizens but the world at large.
