ECHO-PERSONALITY: HARUNA YUSUF ABBA

BY KABIRU AISHA

Haruna Yusuf Abba was a student at the University of Jos, who graduated from the department of political science. As a student of political science, he is passionate about changing the lives of people and their political narrative from negative to positive, and that’s where he started getting an interest in politics.

In the 2019 election, he contested and was declared the youngest candidate to contest in the election of that year in Nigeria, at the age of 25. He came 7th out of the 22 candidates from different political parties that aspired for the state house of assembly.

His goals were to lead a democratic revolution for a peaceful, united and prosperous Jos plateau state and Nigeria in general.

He is the author of the book “BREATHE INTO THE FUTURE” (a memoir) which was published by Unico printing press limited, and reviewed by Dickson Salami Adama in 2021. The book conceived, nursed and finally delivered his vision in one of the most famous styles. To be honest, he hasn’t really achieved much in his journey of life, he hasn’t impacted the world as he desires. If there’s one thing he wants to achieve through this is to motivate young men to step out and share their experiences.

Haruna Yusuf Abba is the president and founder of GAMJI MEMORIAL CLUB, in the University of Jos. He is a young man with a vision which many young men look up to now because he has opened their minds and inspired them to be who they really are. Being young can never stop a person from being a leader, you just have to stand up and be who you are, pursue your dreams and they will become your reality. It is said that every achievement comes from the decision to try.

Haruna said and I quote “ONE DOES NOT HAVE TO ATTEND THE PEAK OF SUCCESS OR THE ACCUME OF HIS CAREER BEFORE HE WRITES ABOUT IT, HE SAID, THIS BOOK IS A TEMPLATE HE SET FOR OTHERS TO FOLLOW. He is an aspiration to the youths and students of Unijos.
