By EMAH ONYEJE ENE

The 2023 general elections have come and gone, and like other students of universities across the nation, it is time for students of the University of Jos to pick up from where they left off.

The closure of schools which took effect on February 22th was mandated by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC)  to avail students the opportunity to exercise their franchise and as a preventive measure to ensure the safety of students during and after the elections.

In the excitement of the moment, some students spoke about their election experience as first-time voters and were all smiles as they expressed their joy over returning to school after the brief hiatus despite the looming rumors of the Academic Staff Union of Universities warming up for another stretch of industrial action.

In line with the directives of the school senate, the buzz of academic life has returned to the  University of Jos campus as students and members of staff alike are up and about, making sure the semester begins on a strong note.

Bethel Tongret Sunday, a student of the department of Mass Communication, University of Jos confirmed that lectures and other academic activities have resumed in earnest.
