The Christian Association of Management Science Student Fellowship (CAMSSF) held its Transition and Thanksgiving Mega Concert at the Faculty of Management Science Auditorium on Saturday, June 24th, 2023.
The theme of the event was “The Audience of One” and featured Gospel artists – Kvocals, Freeman Fanatic, Timothy Datu, and Pastor Shenny Glory, who gave the sermon.
Joseph Murinyi Joshua, the President of the Christian Association of Management Science Student Fellowship (CAMSFF) and a final-year student of the Department of Business Administration said in an interview with this reporter that the concert was put together as a means of beating the norms of the party extravagances that go on on campus when students are graduating.
He said the event was also organised to create an opportunity for the final-year students of the faculty to fellowship together one last time.
“The Executive Committee of CAMSFF and I had been planning this event for a very long time. We wanted to do something that beats the norm of the signing-out party and extravagances that go on on campus when students are graduating. We wanted our set to be different and to celebrate our victory in thanksgiving and worship together to God, one last time as final-year students of the faculty”, Joshua said.
“And I’m glad we did. It was an amazing event. This serves as the icing on the cake for me in my service as outgoing president of the fellowship”, he added.

With the excitement that accompanied the event, the final-year students celebrated their sign-out in grand style, singing and dancing even as other students of the fellowship joined them to celebrate.

Mr. Idi Aranda Jamok, the 400-level coordinator for the graduating class of the Department of Business Administration, gave a brief speech admonishing all the graduating students to not relent and keep their faith and hope alive even after they transition to the next phase in life.
“It is only the Grace of God that has kept me this far with you guys. Even as you leave the university to pursue what’s ahead of you, I admonish you to always put God first in all things. Keep your faith and hope alive. Let these guide you as you go forth”.

The Mega Concert featured several exciting activities, including music demonstrations and poetry, and had over 100 students in attendance.
The highlight of the event was the sermon given by Pastor Shenny Glory of The Evening Church, who gave his sermon under the title “Who You’ve Always Wanted to Be”.
He said that the most important weapons a person needs to go far in life as a believer are faith and holding on to the promises of God.
“UNIJOS has tested your patience as students in many ways. Many have run this race, but not all are crowned. You’ve reached the finish line; it’s time to focus on what’s next”.
“If you base your trust on the connections of men, you may never reach your price. Your help should always come from God. Your most important weapons for life as a believer should be the shield of faith and holding steadfastly to the promises of God”, he said.

At the end of the sermon, he prayed for the outgoing Executive Committee members of the fellowship and rededicated the newly elected ones, admonishing them to keep the fire for Christ burning and carry on strong with the mantle the graduating excos have left them.

Attendee Experiences
Douglas Haruna, a final-year student from the Department of Business Administration, said, “I’m so excited to be here. It’s been a fun ride. As a member of the Christian Association of Management Science Student Fellowship (CAMSSF), my life has transformed immensely. This concert is the highlight of the Fellowship for me. It was amazing, very interesting, and I’ll miss this very much”.
Agnes Atilola, from the Department of Special Education, 300 level, said, “This event is everything for me. It’s just so uncommon to see graduating students fellowshipping together on the day of their signing out. Usually, they’re always dancing, drinking, and partying. It’s so nice to see a change. When I heard about the event, it interested me so much that I had to attend. I’m not from the Faculty of Management Science, but such a different idea is what brought me here. It’s an event I’m so glad I attended. It was amazing”.

Joseph Mary from the marketing department said, “The concert was lovely. I was touched by God, and the lessons from it, especially from the sermon by Pastor Shenny Glory, ministered greatly to me. I learned the importance of faith and holding on to God’s promises to make it far in life. I had a swell time”.
