University of Jos Faculty of Education held an Induction Ceremony for 1003 graduates to establish them as teachers. The ceremony, which was overseen by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, took place on Thursday, 27th October 2023 at the University Multi-purpose Auditorium Bauchi Road Campus.
Mr Njwoku Micheal, the Faculty officer, led the procession at the event which was attended by dignitaries and well-wishers. Dr Theresa S. Gyang, Chairperson Faculty TRCN committee, in her welcome speech, reminded the inductees of the importance of their role as teachers in shaping future generations.
Prof. Timothy Ayetunde, representing the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, expressed his gratitude for the graduates reaching this milestone and congratulated them. In his admonition to the newly inducted teachers, he said, “Teachers are people whose reward is from God and God alone. No man can reward teachers so let’s keep doing what we know how to do best so we make our country a great nation.”
The Induction Ceremony was a joyous occasion for the graduates who had overcome struggles and challenges to get to this point in their lives.
One of the inductees, Mr Sunday Fathan, expressed his gratitude to God, saying, “Despite the struggle and challenges, I want to appreciate God for helping me and seeing me through.”
Similarly, Miss Pinzin Samuel, an inductee from the Department of Guardians and Counselling, advised fellow undergraduate students to keep pushing and never give up, reassuring them that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
