Students at the University of Jos (UNIJOS) have been grappling with frustrating registration issues as they attempt to enroll for the new academic Session.
The university’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) office has been flooded with complaints from students who have encountered difficulties while trying to complete their registration processes.
Several students have reported encountering technical glitches and system errors when trying to access the online registration portal.
This has led to widespread frustration and anxiety among the student body, as the deadline for registration draws near. Some students have expressed concerns that the registration issues may adversely affect their academic progress.
In response to the mounting challenges faced by students, the ICT at UNIJOS has mobilized its resources to address the registration woes. They have acknowledged the severity of the situation and have assured students that they are working tirelessly to rectify the technical issues plaguing the registration system.
Mr.Daniel Inusa Yakmut, the head of the ICT, emphasized the commitment to ensuring a seamless registration process for all students. He also stated that he understands the frustration and inconvenience that students are experiencing due to the registration challenges.
The members of the ICT have deployed a task force to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the registration portal and identify the root causes of the technical disruptions. Technical experts are working around the clock to diagnose and troubleshoot the system errors that have been impeding the registration process for students.
In addition, the ICT has established a dedicated support channel to assist students who are encountering registration difficulties.
A helpdesk has been set up to field inquiries and provide step-by-step guidance to students who require assistance with navigating the registration portal and resolving any issues they may encounter.
“According to Mr Daniel, the ICT has established a support team that is available to assist students with any registration-related issues. It is our priority to ensure that every student can successfully complete the registration process without unnecessary obstacles.”
The university administration has also expressed its support for the efforts being undertaken by the members of ICT to address the registration challenges. The Registrar, Dr Rejoice Songden, affirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the welfare and academic success of the students.
“We recognize the gravity of the registration difficulties that students have confronted, and we stand in solidarity with them. The university administration is working in close collaboration with the ICT department to expedite the resolution of these issues and ensure that students can proceed with their registration without disruption,” asserted Dr Rejoice.
Despite the hurdles faced by students, there is a sense of optimism among the UNIJOS community as the ICT Board intensifies its efforts to streamline the registration process. Students have expressed appreciation for the proactive measures being taken by the university to address their concerns and alleviate the registration challenges.
“I am encouraged to see the university taking decisive action to rectify the registration problems. It gives me hope that the ICT Board is committed to resolving the issues and ensuring that we can focus on our studies without the added stress of registration woes,” remarked Emmanuella Ese, a final-year student of mass communication department.
The university has assured students that regular updates regarding the progress of the registration system enhancements will be communicated through official channels, ensuring transparency and accountability as the resolution efforts unfold.
As the members of the ICT continue to work fervently to restore normalcy to the registration process, students remain hopeful that the technical hurdles will soon be overcome, allowing them to complete their registration and embark on the new academic semester with confidence and peace of mind.
