INDORAMA FERTILISER COMPANY GRANTS SCHOLARSHIPS TO EXCEPTIONAL NAAS STUDENTS

In a commendable effort to foster academic excellence, the Indorama Fertilizer Company has recently granted scholarships to three exceptional Agricultural students at the University of Jos in collaboration with the National Association of Agricultural Students (NAAS).

The recipients, namely Miss Ritkatmun Lenka, Mr. Olotu Maxwell Ayobami, and Miss Zainab Siyaka, each received a scholarship of one hundred and fifty thousand naira. This initiative aims to inspire and assist students in their academic pursuits, thereby contributing to the enhancement of educational standards.

The selection of scholarship awardees was based on their impressive Cumulative Grade Point Averages (CGPA), with Miss Ritkatmun Lenka achieving a CGPA of 4.40, Mr. Olotu Maxwell Ayobami with a CGPA of 3.98, and Miss Zainab Siyaka securing a CGPA of 4.29.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya, Dr. Chris Piwuna underscored the significance of the scholarship during his address to the students. He encouraged all students to draw inspiration from the awardees and strive for academic excellence.

Expressing their gratitude, the scholarship recipients shared their joy and appreciation for the unexpected honor. Miss Zainab Siyaka, humbled by the recognition, stated, “I didn’t count myself among the best students in this faculty, but here I am. I appreciate and also acknowledge the Indorama Fertiliser Company.”

Miss Ritkatmun Lenka, expressing her gratitude, emphasized that the scholarship would serve as motivation for her to achieve more and inspire a commitment to giving back to society. She stated, “Education is a shared endeavor, and being able to receive this will propel me to give back to society.”

Mr. Olotu Maxwell Ayobami echoed his appreciation, thanking both the faculty and Indorama Fertiliser Company for selecting him as one of the scholarship beneficiaries.

Musa Ado Musa, the Marketing Supervisor at Indorama Fertiliser, explained that the company’s scholarship scheme is an annual initiative designed to recognize and encourage undergraduate students in the field of agriculture. He stated, “Indorama Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme is an annual cauldron for undergraduate studies aimed at promoting academic excellence among agricultural students.”

Dr. Chris also advised students on the importance of dedication to studies to ensure the growth and integrity of the association. This scholarship marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between academia and industry for the advancement of education, being the first time the University of Jos has received such support from the Indorama Fertilizer Company.
