Agric Faculty clinches narrow victory over PHE in a hard-fought novelty match

 The Faculty of Agriculture male football team defeated Department of Physical and Health Education male football team one goal to nil to emerge triumphant in a novelty match hosted to mark their newly launch Jerseys.

The intense football match which took place at the postgraduate (PG) football field, permanent site campus, saw the first half end in a barren draw, with both teams firing blanks after numerous end to end actions.

Second half substitute, Solomon Nduka who since his introduction was a torn on the flesh of the opponent defenders with his mazy runs, broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, in what was a moment of magic that saw him skip past his two markers, round the goalkeeper and slot the ball in to the back of the net.

Nduka’s strike was all Faculty of Agriculture will eventually need to see off their PHE counterpart who failed to respond.

Speaking at the end of the match, the sports director of the Faculty, Adikaba Danjuma Achigak commended the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited by both teams.

Achigak affirmed that the faculty is ready to play with other departments/faculties willing to take on the challenge in sports and that the match which ended in favour of his side was played with the intention of fostering inter-departmental/Faculties friendship between the two teams.
