Unijos NAPSS elects new leaders

The National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS), University of Jos chapter, has elected new officials who will pilot its affairs for the 2022/2023 academic session. The elections which took place at the polling units stationed in front of Faculty of Social Sciences saw students come out enmass to cast their votes for their desired candidates.

Sequel to this development, Comrade Bulus Moendat Dachin, emerged as President with 143 votes over his opponents Comrade Bamshak Walshak and Oko Catherine Omagu, while Comrade Dashal Seth Samson emerged as Library Secretary over his opponent Comrade Aluma Victor, with Comrade Musa Tumayan Agada emerging as Provost Marshal and other positions being unopposed.

The President elect, Comrade Bulus Moendat Dachin, commended the Electoral Committee who according to him judiciously vetted all aspirants and ensured that all electoral procedures were adhered to. He also applauded the undiluted efforts of his opponent Oko Catherine, who happened to be the first female presidential aspirant in the political history of the department. He said “I admired her courage and zeal to serve right from the start to finish of this race.

He urged them to join hands with him to lift the department to an enviable height, while also assuring the students of his readiness to upgrade the department in all sectors.

In the same vein, Comrade Wuyep, the Electoral Committee Secretary General, appreciated his team for the selfless service rendered and the students for coming out in numbers to exercise their franchise and for adhering to all electoral rules and regulations.

Similarly, the students revealed satisfaction on the outcome of the election. According to them, the entire process was transparent and clearly signified the growth and development that will prevail.
