In an exciting development for the University of Jos community, Uzochukwu Micheal Chibuzor popularly known as MC Buzzy has assumed office as the newly inaugurated Director of Socials for the university. With a resounding victory, Chibuzor secured a total of 2063 votes, reflecting the trust and confidence students have placed in his vision for enhancing campus life.
Hailing from the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Economics and Extension, Chibuzor brings a fresh perspective and a robust plan aimed at advancing the social fabric of the university. His mission is clear: to uplift the lives of Jossites socially by introducing a diverse array of platforms and activities that cater to their physical, moral, mental, spiritual, and economic well-being.
Chibuzor’s ambitious agenda includes the implementation of various initiatives such as talent shows, trade fairs, carnivals, and a wide range of events designed to foster community engagement and showcase the talents and endeavours of students. Additionally, he plans to leverage social media marketing and content creation to amplify the voices of Josites and promote their achievements both within the university and beyond.
Speaking with Unijos Echo, Chibuzor mentioned his central strategy of fostering unity and collaboration across faculties, departments, and tribal groups which make up a total of the representative student body communities within campus.
“My emergence as the new DOS shows the unwavering faith and support that Jossites have in me, and as such, I believe in fostering unity and collaboration between the various faculties, departments, and tribal groups which are a crust of what the student body communities are made up of”, he said.
He added that inclusivity is important towards achieving success as the newly inaugurated DOS.
“My philosophy is simple. I’d work closely with members of the executive body and school management to create an environment where every student feels empowered to participate and contribute towards growing the vibrant social life of the University campus”, he added.
As the university embarks on a new chapter under Chibuzor’s leadership, anticipation is high for the transformative changes he promises to bring. With his dedication, enthusiasm, and innovative approach, Chibuzor is poised to leave a lasting impact on the University of Jos, enriching the student experience and fostering a sense of belonging for all.
