FASA hosts Exclusive Rainbow Picnic for “Female Fasaites”

The Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA), University of Jos, through the office of the Welfare Secretary, hosted a highly anticipated ladies hangout and rainbow picnic event to create a vibrant and inclusive gathering for the female Fasaites.

The event which took place at the Lush Green Jarden Garden in the Jos Museum, saw Attendees wore their brightest and most colourful attire, making the stage a stunning rainbow-themed atmosphere.

The Welfare Secretary of the Faculty, Izang Joy, disclosed that the event was organized to foster unity among the female students. “The essence of this event is to enable the female students in the faculty of arts establish good relationships, get to know one another and create a sense of unity and belonging’’, she said.

Charity Badung, a senator in the Faculty of Art, in her speech, shared her personal experiences of overcoming the trauma of being raped multiple times, at the same time educate the participants on importance of mentorship and navigating purpose and relationship.

She furthered emphasized the role of mentors in guiding individuals through life’s challenges and encouraged the attendees to seek out supportive relationships.

In addition, Badung highlighted the significance of self-forgiveness and forgiveness towards those who have caused harm as a means to achieve inner peace.

Following Badung’s speech, the second speaker, Joy Izang, addressed the topic of friendship. She stressed the importance of building meaningful female friendships, particularly in the academic setting, and advised the ladies to be cautious of toxic relationships and friendships that make them feel inferior

Nshem Helin, a 300 level student of Mass Communication, expressed delight and appreciated the organisers of the event and encouraged them to maintain the standard.

Celestina Na’anmiap, a 300 level student of History and International Studies, appreciated the Welfare Secretary for giving them the opportunity to foster relationships among the female students in the faculty.

The event concluded with the ladies forming new connections and friendships, fostering a sense of community and support within the Faculty of Art.
