The University of Jos (Unijos) has released the guidelines for the 2022/2023 Second Semester Examinations, set to begin on Monday, May 20, 2024. This announcement comes from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, through the Information, Publications, Public Relations & Protocol Division.
The key points of the guidelines are as follows:
- Strict Adherence to Payment of School Charges: The Senate has reaffirmed its decision that students who have not paid their school charges will be barred from taking the examinations. This policy is to ensure that all dues are settled promptly.
- Examination Cards: Students who have paid their full school charges should log on to their dashboard to print their examination cards. This document is mandatory for entry into the examination halls.
- Part Payment Synchronization: Those who have made partial payments must ensure these payments are synchronized with their Faculty Finance Officer (FFO). After synchronization, the balance should be paid via their dashboard.
- Full Payment Requirement: Students who have not made any payments are required to pay the full charges through their dashboard before they are permitted to enter the examination hall.
- 50% Payment Option: For students unable to pay the full amount, the university offers a 50% payment option. These students must report to their Faculty Finance Officers with a detailed reason and an undertaking to pay the remaining balance after the examinations. The payment is to be made through the University’s REMITA Account (UNIVERSITY OF JOS – 1000113), categorized under Undergraduate Outstanding Fees. The steps for this payment are outlined on the university’s official website.
- Result Withholding for Partial Payments: Students who are allowed to write the exams with partial payments will not have their results released until they settle the full amount.
In addition to these guidelines, students are advised to verify their payment status with their Faculty Finance Officers and print hard copies of their Remita Receipt, School Charges Receipt, and Examination Card to bring to the examinations.
The university emphasizes that students who have not settled their school charges in full will not be allowed to participate in the Second Semester Examinations.
Abdullahi Abdullahi, Senior Deputy Registrar for Information and Publications, signed off on the memorandum, urging all students to comply with these guidelines to ensure a smooth examination process.
